Hope everyone’s had a great summer thus far… I already miss the beach… Any who, the monstrosity known as SEC Media Days begins Monday July 13th in Hoover, Alabama. I’ll be there in the midst of it all, and will give a stream of thoughts throughout.
Thoughts on the NBA Draft
I think hoops fans will look back at this draft and see alot of quality… I have ZERO clue who will be stars, but I think we have a handful of All Stars. Won’t go through all the names of guys, just a few that I really like
Jahlil Okafor (76ers)- I WISH he would have went the Lakers, for two reasons.
1. The Style of play for by LA would benefit his skill set more than most and..
2. Because he got drafted by the 76ers
We just don’t know what direction the Sixers are going in (and quite frankly who knows), I just hope for big Jah’s sake that he can flourish there, and not become the proverbial square peg in round hole.
Karl Anthony-Towns (Timberwolves)- Towns is the opposite of Okafor in the sense that he went to a franchise that “fits.” He has a world of talent, and he has tools in his game that we didn’t see at Kentucky. It dosen’t hurt that he appears to have went to a team thats more stable than some of the other teams in the top 10 of the draft (Wiggins, Levine, etc)
Emmaunel Mudiay (Nuggets)- I’ve watched from afar in HS recruiting with Mudiay, and loved his game. Can he knock down a perimetter jumper conisstently? Not likely, but I think he can run a team in my opinion, and will be a good passer. He may be the most imporved guy in the lottery at the end of his first season.
Guys I like:
Justice Winslow, Frank Kaminsky, Kelly Oubre, Terry Rozier, Devin Booker, Sam Dekker, Bobby Portis, Tyus Jones, Montrezl Harrell, Mario Hezonja
Boom or Bust:
DeAngelo Russell, Kristaps Porzingis
One Last Thing:
My life hasn’t been right for quite sometime. Kinda been a void since the Spring, and throughout the Summer. Hope was renewed this week though, and I hope my life gets back to normal by the end of the Summer. Bless you:
Enjoy the weekend peeps.
