Rumblings or Thoughts from London…

France celebrate winning the men's 4x100m Freestyle Relay(Source:london2012.com)

I have to be honest, the Olympics have been fun to watch (when has the Summer Games ever been boring)?

I don’t know what I’ve enjoyed the most so far after three days of competition, would have to say swimming though, the Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte battle on day 1, to the 4 X100 freestyle relay, with the France men winning the gold. To me though the most impressive swimmer so far:

Missy Franklin is a star. Period. the 17 year old to me has been the story of the Games BY FAR. Her personality jumps off the TV, other swimmers from other countries love being around her, she just has STAR written all over her. She has a GREAT support system (kudos to mom and dad), and I appreciate her loving being a teenager, she wants to swim for her high school in Colorado, thus turning down a ton of sponsorships.  She has a bronze in the relays, and her first gold Monday in her first individual medal event. Safe to say we haven’t heard the last from Missy in these games.

Kim Rhode is the greatest Olympic Athlete in American history. Why? She has the hardware to prove it. Rhode captured gold in skeet shooting, making her the only US athlete to win a medal in five consecutive Olympic games. To win her latest medal Sunday, she went 99 out of 100 to win Gold. Pretty dang impressive.

Kerri Walsh Jennings and Misty May-Treanor of the USA collide(Source:london2012.com)

Misty May-Treanor, and Kerri Walsh-Jennings have been playing beach Volleyball I swear since 1982. I remember watching these ladies when I was a young lad, they would show beach volleyball on NBC on Sunday’s during the summer.  They are as fun to watch as they always have been, loving every point like it’s their last. This probably will be the last Olympics for Treanor, but it sure has been fun watching these ladies over the years and now trying to win gold yet again for the USA.

Wish the men’s gymnastics team could have won a medal, but we still have the Fab Five that has a shot to bring home gold since the Magnificent Seven did it in 1996. We shall see if the “Flying Squirrel” Gabby Douglas and company can reach the podium.

**ACTS OF RANDOMNESS**

*So I watched the Real Housewives of New Jersey on Monday (Thank you DVR!), and even though I think there’s some turmoil amongst the Manzos, Guidices, etc, The trip that they are on in California shows you they all generally can put up with each other. I think they have spats and fight from time to time, but they generally like each other.

* I’ve said that I love Cheer Perfection on TLC, but I think I will love another show WAY better. There are no words for whats below, but I CANT WAIT:

And one of my favorite commercials, is about the kiddies going back to school. I bob my head every time I see it:

Enjoy the Olympics this week!
